Clarence Marvin Sund , 85, rural Minot, died Sunday, September 22, 2013 in a Minot Hospital.
Clarence was born September 11, 1928 at Bottineau, North Dakota the son of Chris and Myrtle (Aasen) Sund. He was raised and educated at Kramer and graduated from Kramer High School in 1946 .
Clarence entered into active duty service with the U.S. Army in 1951 and honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict until 1953. He returned to North Dakota and was united in marriage to Annabelle Smith on November 15, 1954 at Las Vegas, NV.
They made their home west of Minot throughout the years. Clarence was employed as a janitor for Minot Public schools, cab driver for Minot Cab Company, with Beeline Service of Minot and later drove truck for Westland Oil Company. In 1970, he purchased his own trucking company and operated as an independent driver until retiring in 2006.
Clarence was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot. He enjoyed fishing in his younger years.
His loving family includes, wife of fifty-nine years, Annabelle; children, Randy Sund of Minot and Laurie Sund of Minot; grandson, Louis Bohl, Minot.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Orville and sister, Grace.
Funeral service : Friday, September 27, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation : Thursday, September 26, from 2:00-7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
