Christa Bjordahl, 77, Belle Fourche, SD, formerly of North Dakota, died Sunday, February 18, 2024, in a Rapid City, SD hospital.

Christa was born in Heidelberg, Germany on 23 November 1946 to Alice Scheidweiler. Her widowed mother met Robert Darling (USAF) and moved to the USA, where they married in 1952, in Texas. Christa was officially adopted by Robert, before the end of the year. They lived there for a time, before moving to California, where Alice became an officially Nationalized American Citizen, in 1956.

Christa spent a lot of her life, residing with her grandparents, Fred and Blanche Darling (after his first wife, Myrtle, passed), in Rolla, ND. It was there, that she developed her life-long passion for horses. She resided in ND most of her life, where she pursued a higher education, graduating from Aaker's Business College. She became a driving force of the horse business world, along with her partner Klem. Together they bred, raised, trained, rode, and showed many champions. Christa lived her last couple of years in SD, enjoying the scenery and companionship of her new neighbors.

Christa had a few loves throughout her life, including Duane Jussero, Wade Bjordahl, Wayne Gotvaslee & Klem Schmaltz, though she chose to only marry twice.  She had several close friends, who will miss her dearly -Gladys, Bonnie, Lynette, & Lori (to name only a few).  She was mother to two (Donald & Deborah), grandmother to five (Ayla, Desirae, Mason, Freeman, & Shina) great-grandmother to one (RJ) & an aunt to five (Jennifer, Michael, Andrew, Eric, & Keirnan).

Christa is preceded in death by her parents, all her loves, her brother Jon Darling, sister Sylvia Darling-Schafer, and son Donald Jussero.

She is survived by her daughter Deborah Price, sister Margaret Darling, all grandkids, great-grandson, nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
