Obituary

Charlotte Rust , 90, Minot, formerly of Martin, died Friday, April 11, 2014 in a Minot Nursing Home.

Charlotte was born April 2, 1924 in Breslau, Germany, the daughter of Herman and Gertrude (Tisher) Berndt. She was raised and educated with her twin brother, Ernst in Germany. She met Warren Rust, while he was stationed with the U.S. Army in Augsburg, Germany during the Korean War.

Charlotte and Warren were united in marriage on April 21, 1950 in Augsburg. After his discharge in 1952, they returned to New York and settled in Martin, North Dakota. They lived there for several years before moving to Minot in 1966. Charlotte was employed as a nurse's aide at Americana (ManorCare) Healthcare Center for over 23 years. She retired in 1989. Warren died September 5, 1994.

Charlotte was a former member of the Martin Baptist Church and currently of First Baptist Church, Minot. She was active with the Church's XYZ Senior group, German Club and Tops Club. She enjoyed her garden, especially her flowers. Her pride and joy was spending time with and talking about her family.

Her loving family includes, children, Owen (Sally) Rust, Sawyer, Terry (Carol) Rust, West Fargo and Aaron (Joan) Rust, Minot; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; caregiver, Videll Kubler, Minot.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren; granddaughter, Krista and twin-brother, Ernst.

Funeral service: Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in First Baptist Church, Minot
Graveside service : Thursday at 1:30p.m. in Martin Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation: Wednesday from 2:00-7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Martin Baptist Cemetery Fund.
