Charles Robert "Buzz" Weiskopf, 72, Minot, died Sunday, May 11, 2008 in a Minot nursing home.
Charles was born on May 27, 1935, in Minot, ND, the son of Charles and Clara (Schneider) Weiskopf. He was raised and educated in Minot. Charles began his employment in 1954 working as a meatcutter and salesman with Swift & Company. Buzz continued his employment there until 1969.
Charles was united in marriage to Mary Flom on September 10, 1955, in Minot, where they made their home. In 1969, Buzz purchased Charlie's Country Sausage of Minot. He owned and operated the business for the next 33 years, until his retirement in 2002. Mary passed away on April 19, 1986.
Charles was a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles Aerie, and a charter member of the Dakota Territory Air Museum, all of Minot. Buzz was a lifetime member of the NRA and Ducks Unlimited. Buzz enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting, which included great skill in reloading his own ammunition. He will be deeply missed by all who shared in his life over the years as a business owner in Minot.
His loving family includes: Special Friend: Alice Boyko Children: Michael (Colleen) Weiskopf, Berthold, Steve (Pamela Lorenz) Weiskopf, Surrey, Marci (Todd) Larson, Garrison; Grandchildren: Ryan (Jen) Weiskopf, Mark (Rachel Trondson) Weiskopf, Mary Anne (Matt Nelson) Weiskopf, Nikki and Emily Johnson, and Matya, Nick, and Ty Larson; Great-Grandchildren: Ariana, Jayden, Ally, Ella, Lyndsay, Colton, and Annabelle; Foreign-Exchange Granddaughter: Mirella Martins, Sao Paulo, Brazil, Sister: Arla (Vern) Knauff, Spokane, WA, and Jean (Woody) Thorpe, Minot; Brother: James (Judy) Weiskopf, Burlington; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister, Eleanor Mae Weiskopf.
Funeral Service:
Thursday, May 15, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Minot;
Burial:
Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
Visitation:
Wednesday, May 14, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
