Cathy Ann Smith , 70, of Minot, formerly of White Bear Lake, MN, died on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 in her home surrounded by her family and hospice.

Cathy Ann Grossnickle was born on September 23, 1953 in Fairbanks, Alaska, the daughter of Lloyd and Adeline (Saathoff) Grossnickle. She moved with her family at an early age to White Bear Lake, Minnesota, where she was raised and educated. She graduated from White Bear Lake High School and attended Beauticians school.

She was united in marriage to David Smith on July 15, 1975. He was stationed at various places while serving with the United States Air Force. They moved to Minot in 1984, while he continued his service to our country.

Cathy was employed at JR Rockers NCO Club at the Minot Air Force Base for over 13 years. She also worked a short time for Walmart in Minot.

Cathy was a member of Dakota Cruisers Car Club.

She enjoyed sewing, crafting, and collecting fairies.

Her loving family includes, husband of 49 years, David; children, Ryan and Selena, both of Minot; her mother, Adeline Grossnickle of White Bear Lake, MN; siblings, Jean and Barry, both of Colorado; Cheryl, Gail, and Ricky, all of Minnesota; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cathy was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd.
