Kay DeBold, 79, of Painesville, OH, went home to be with the Lord on December 2, 2023, at her son's home in Minot, ND.

Carolyn Kay DeBold was born on August 28, 1944, to parents Robert and Lucy Crum in Durbin, WV. She grew up attending school at Durbin Elementary and later graduated from Harvey High School class of 1962 in Painesville, OH.

Upon graduating, Kay enrolled in nursing school at Lakeland Community College. She later graduated and worked as a registered nurse in home health and hospice for over 30 years at Lake East hospital. She married Albert DeBold in 1978 and resided in Painesville until 2022. Albert passed away in 2000.

Kay had a servant's heart, as she continued her passion for nursing during her retirement years through volunteering at hospice centers. She also enjoyed working in her garden, reading murder mysteries, and keeping close tabs on the British royal family.

Kay truly understood the importance of companionship and was always willing to lend an empathetic listening ear. She will be remembered most as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Kay is survived by her son, Larry DeBold of Minot, ND; daughter-in-law, Bridgette DeBold of Minot, ND; brother, Robert "Butch" (Nancy) Crum of Mayfield Heights, OH; grandchildren, Maria (Dustin) Greene, Sara (Mike) Tafoya, Dylan DeBold, LillyAnne DeBold, and Jace DeBold; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Mikal, Brantley, and Waylon, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 22 years, Albert DeBold, and daughter, Kelly Tafoya.
