Obituary

Carolyn E. Brown, 83, Berthold, died Monday, June 25, 2018 in a Minot hospital.

Carolyn was born December 29, 1934, in Ryder, ND to Marius and Ann (Ackerman) Rogneby. She was educated in Ryder and Berthold where she completed high school in 1952. She spent her high school years working at the Rogneby Cafe in Berthold. (where some would say she rolled in the tips)

Carolyn was united in marriage to Joe Brown on February 17, 1953 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Berthold. Carolyn worked for a short time at First National Bank in Minot until she was blessed as a mother.

They always called Berthold home, but followed construction work and its seasons to various places in Montana, Wyoming, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, South Dakota and North Dakota. After the children were grown, she joined her husband as a secretary for DH Blattner and Sons of Avon, MN working until she retired in 1994.

Carolyn was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Berthold where she was active in ladies aid of the church, as well as making gravy with her husband Joe for the annual turkey dinner for many years. She also joined the American Legion Auxiliaries of the communities she resided, and could often be found at the Berthold Senior Citizen's Center playing various card games (pinochle). Joe and Carolyn enjoyed time at the casino, fishing, and camping. Her family was blessed with her cooking, but most importantly with her love.
