Carolee Grosse , 65, Minot and formerly of the Sawyer area, died Friday in her home surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Carolee Larson was born December 31, in Minot, ND to Leon and Louise (Schellenbaum) Larson. She was baptized and confirmed in her faith at the Saron Lutheran Church, rural Minot. Carolee was raised and educated in the South Prairie area, where she attended grade school. She graduated from Sawyer High School in 1959, and attended Minot Business College.

Carolee was united in marriage to Reinhold Grosse on June 11, 1961, in the Saron Lutheran Church. They resided in Minot for a time, until moving to Sawyer, ND, at which time she was employed as a legal secretary by Pringle & Herigstad Law Firm in Minot. A few years later she began preparing income taxes independently out of her home while still working for Pringle & Herigstad.In 1978, Reinhold and Carolee moved to the Ted Liebelt family farm, located south of Sawyer,where she assisted on the farm andcontinued to run her income tax business. Shebecame a partner in Grosse and Petrick Income Tax. They moved back to Minot in 2002, following their retirement from the farm. She sold her partnership in Grosse and Petrick Income Tax and continued working part-time for Petrick and Youngs Income Tax.

She was a member of Sawyer Homemaker's Club, First Lutheran Church, Minot and Saron Lutheran Church, rural Minot, where she taught Sunday School for a number of years. Carolee was also a member of the Horticulture Club of Minot. She enjoyed the outdoors through bird watching, camping, fishing and gardening, where she earned countless awards at the ND State Fair for her flower displays. Carolee will be deeply missed by her family and all who shared in her life.

Loving family includes: husband of 46 years, Reinhold, Minot; Children: Cindy (Michael Dohnansky) Grosse - Eagan, MN, Wendy (Tim) Engh - Minot, and Randy (Janet) Grosse - Sawyer, ND; Grandchildren: Megan Berg, Alycia Engh, Eric Grosse, Brekka Grosse, and Colin Riley; Sisters: Bev Anhorn, Max, ND and Jayne Rydberg, Astoria, OR; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Carolee was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, and niece, Cassandra Anhorn.

Funeral service : Monday, July 2, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Saron Lutheran Church Cemetery Rural Minot, ND
Visitation : Sunday, July 1, 2007, from noon until 5:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials : preferred to First Lutheran Church, Minot or to Saron Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
