Obituary

Carole Irene Berg , 84, Minot, formerly of Logan, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family and hospice.

Carole was born December 8, 1933 in Minot, North Dakota, the daughter of Awalt and Helen (Hayes) Klimple. She was raised and educated in the Sawyer area and graduated from Sawyer High School in 1951.

Carole was united in marriage to the love of her life, Virgil Berg, on October 17, 1953 in Minot. They made their home in Logan for a number of years, where they raised their three children. Carole was employed at Trinity Medical Center, as the housekeeping supervisor for over 10 years. During her employment there she supervised at both the hospital and nursing home.

In 1995, they moved to Trappers Cove Townhomes in Minot where they made their home for many years. Virgil passed away October 15, 2016. Following his death, Carole moved across the lake to the Wellington Assisted Living. With the sight of home and familiar surroundings, she quickly settled in, and thought the world of "her girls" there. She looked forward to spring to see the ducks and baby geese swimming out on the water.

Throughout their years they spent many summers at their lake cabin at Parshall Bay. It was a great place for family gatherings and a favorite destination for the grandkids. Carole and Virgil enjoyed helping out at the store and visiting for hours on end with all of their lake friends. Carole would never turn down a trip to the casino and enjoyed the company of anyone who would come along!

Carole was a member of First Lutheran Church, Minot. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and sewing, especially working on quilts. She loved to garden, and spent many hours tending to her beautiful flowers and abundant raspberry bushes. She had the greenest thumb and had the most perfect, and gorgeous yard in the neighborhood.

Carole was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and beloved sister and friend. Her quick wit, "say it how it is" attitude, and sense of humor, will be missed by all who shared in her life.

Her loving family includes , children, Kerry Brendle, Parshall, Kendall Berg, Minot and Wendy (Dennis) Beeter, Logan; 8 grandchildren to include: Brandi (David) Johnson, Heidi (Chad) Kamminga, Melissa (David) Johannes, Kendra (Jay) Haaland, Ashley (Tyler) Thiel, Jesse (Emily) Berg, Becky Berg and Jordan (Danielle) Johnson; 10 great grandchildren to include: Tanner and Peyton Johnson, Hailey & Carsen Kamminga, Brekken, Cambrie & Bridger Johannes, Jett Berg, Bellamy THiel & Olivia Johnson; siblings, Ardith McDonald, Parshall, ND, Joyce (Darold) Nielsen, Minot, Gary (LaDonna) Klimple, Logan, ND; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
