Carol Arlene Rostad, 89, Minot and formerly of Carpio died on Saturday, November 7, 2020 in a Minot nursing home.
Carol Arlene Jones was born on December 15, 1930 in Burlington, ND to L. Keith and Clara (Thompson) Jones. She was raised and educated in Carpio.
Carol married Irven Rostad on September 5, 1948 in Carpio. They made their home at Lake Agassiz, MN from 1951-1954 while her husband was employed by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service as a biological technician. The family returned to the Carpio area in 1954 when Irven was transferred to the Upper Souris National Wildlife Refuge. They made their home at the Refuge until 1970 when they moved into Carpio. Irven died on November 28, 2006. Carol moved to Trinity Homes in 2014 where she since had resided.
Carol was a member of the Carpio Lutheran Church where she was active as a volunteer in many areas. Also, she was a lifetime member of the Donnybrook American Legion Auxiliary and a former member of the Callahan Homemaker's Club and Moose Lodge. She especially enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, dancing and playing Rummikub.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings: Allen Jones, Ruth (Herb) Feil, Jim Jones and Bill Jones and in-laws: Sanford (Jane Ellen) Rostad, Lester Rostad, Clayton Rostad, Glen Rostad, James Bergeron, Marvin O'Clair and Alice Mueller.
Private Celebration of the Life of Carol Rostad: Monday, November 16, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carpio Lutheran Church.

Public Visitation: Sunday, November 15, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot. Face Coverings are required and social distancing is strongly recommended.
Interment will be in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery - rural Carpio.
In lieu of flowers Memorials are preferred to the Carpio Lutheran Church or Carpio Lutheran Cemetery Association.
