Carol Dorothy Soberg Melendez, 60, Minot and formerly of Lincoln Nebraska, died on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Trinity Homes in Minot.

Carol was born on July 8, 1953 in Duluth, MN to Richard and Elaine (Newman) Soberg. At an early age, her family moved to the Minneapolis area and she attended school in Hopkins, MN. She graduated from Hopkins-Eisenhower High School in 1971. She was once married to Dale Wentworth.

Carol attended college in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was once married to Andres Melendez. She made her home in Lincoln, Nebraska where she was employed at Lancaster Manor as a licensed practical nurse. She moved to Minot in 1998 and became a resident of Trinity Homes in 2003.

Carol was known for her bright sense of humor, jokes, and making people smile. Carol enjoyed spending time with family, watching TV, reading, sewing, gardening and cooking.

Carol is survived by her son: Andres (Romi Jo) Melendez, Minot, ND; brothers: Richard Soberg of Minot and David (Maria) Soberg of Puerto Rico and several nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents.

Celebration of the Life of Carol Melendez: Monday, August 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Trinity Homes Chapel - Minot.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation: Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
