Carlene Baglien , 77, Minot, died unexpectedly from a stroke on Sunday, September 30, 2018, in a Minot hospital.

Carlene was born May 29, 1941, in Bantry ND to Clyde and Virginia (Brandt) Cargo. She grew up and attended country school in Bantry and Towner ND.

Carlene married Loren Baglien in Woodburn, OR, and while living there Sheldon was born. They moved to Minot in 1961 where Val and Mark joined them. In 1973 they moved to Norwich ND and together built a hobby farm and ranch. They retired to Minot in 1996 where Carlene continued many special relationships with family and friends.

Carlene enjoyed reading, cooking and baking, Skip-Bo, bingo, sending handwritten cards and letters, attending many family events and more recently those of her great-grandkids, extended telephone calls with family, and the company of those who stopped by for a visit.

Her surviving family includes her husband of 59 years, Loren, Minot; children, Sheldon (Carla) Baglien, Velva ND, Valerie (Darrell) Feist, Bismarck ND and Mark (Steve Kowalski) Baglien, Palm Springs CA; grandchildren, Krista (Chad) Olson and their children Kyler, Karter, Kenadi, Brenner, Weston, Paxson and Rylen, Tyler Baglien, Kayla Ehrlich and Brendon Ehrlich; step-grandchildren Jason Feist and his children Jason Jr. and Cambrie, Melissa (Chris Peterson) Feist and their child Adison, Nicole Feist; Jessica's special family Larry Johnson and his daughter Madilyn; and siblings, Beverly Brandt, Surrey ND, Dyann (Larry) Heinrich, Towner ND, Dennis (Becky) Cargo, Towner ND, Rodney (Julie) Cargo, Warroad MN, brother-in-law Milton Goodman, Upham ND, LeeAnn (Bryan) Kramer, Turtle Lake ND, Ritchie Cargo, Towner ND, and Warnie (LeAnn) Cargo, Towner ND. Carlene has several in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends she treasured and enjoyed keeping up with their active lives.

Carlene was preceded in death by her parents, sister Melissa Goodman, grandson Kyle Bauer, granddaughter Jessica Baglien and other loved ones she is reuniting with in heaven.

Gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Minot Moose Lodge & Family Center, located at 400 9 ^th Street SW, Minot, ND.
A private interment will be held later at Union Cemetery, Towner ND.
Carlene donated to the Ronald McDonald House, 609 N 7 ^th St, Bismarck ND 58501 on behalf of her grandson Kyle and Compassionate Friends, 15101 128 ^th Ave NW, Berthold ND 58718 on behalf of her granddaughter Jessica. Memorials are welcome to these or the organization of your choice.
