Bruce Dean Knapp, Jr. , 82, Minot, formerly of New Jersey, died Sunday, October 8, 2023, in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Bruce was born June 14, 1941 in Florence, NJ, the son of Bruce, Sr. and Anna Knapp. He was raised and educated through high school in New Jersey.  Following graduation, he joined the United States Air Force in 1962, which brought him to Minot, ND in 1973. He honorably served until his retirement in June 1977.

Bruce was united in marriage to LaVerne Olson on March 19, 1980 in Minot. They made their home five miles north of Minot. He drove semi for Hamrick Trucking while still in the service until he retired and then purchased his own semi and was self-employed. He retired in 2008.

Bruce enjoyed riding his motorcycle and loved a good game of pool. He was a very talented pool player and shot on Champion Pool League's.

Bruce's loving family includes his wife, LaVerne, Minot, ND; children, Kay Nelson, O'Neill, NE, Sarah (Dennis) Toplin, Oklahoma, David St. John and Dean St. John; step-children, Terry (Lesli) Getzlaff, Burlington, ND, Randy Getzlaff, Karlsruhe, ND, Brett Getzlaff, Minot, ND and Wanda Stacy, Florida; siblings, Rick (Gloria) Knapp, Chris (Ella) Knapp, both of North Carolina and Patty (David) Wallace, Florida along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and son, Bruce D. Wozmy.

Funeral Service : 1:00 p.m. October 20, 2023 in Berean Baptist Church, Minot.
Visitation: One hour prior to the start of the service in the church.
