Bruce Lee Grafsgard, 66, Minot, died Tuesday, March 5, 2019 in a Bismarck Hospital surrounded by his family.
Bruce was born September 21, 1952 at Bismarck, North Dakota the son of Robert and Donalda (Spaeth) Grafsgard. He was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1970. He enlisted with the US Navy on January 6, 1972 and honorably served his country in Guam during the Vietnam War until receiving his honorable discharge on December 18, 1975.
After returning to North Dakota, he was employed as an electrician for Burlington Northern Railroad for a number of years based out of Minot, Williston and Glendive, Montana. After retiring from the railroad, he worked at Dakota Fence and assisted with farming on his best friend's farm - Craig Saugstad.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman and billiards player. He did enduro racing and was a jack of all trades and able to fix just about anything. He had a great sense of humor and wit. He loved to take a ride on his Harley Davidson motorcycle or his boat (The Crystal Lee) out on the lake. He was also known to take his metal detector out for "dirt fishing".
He is survived by his mother, Donalda Grafsgard, Minot; children, Santana (Matt) Grafsgard, Muskegon, MI; Crystal (Nick) Reichard, Valrico, FL; Robert "Bo" (Savannah) Grafsgard, Minot; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; siblings, Bonnie (Terry) Tebben, Casper, WY, Joe (Marilyn) Grafsgard, Huron, SD, Ann (Brad) Grafsgard, Rock Springs, WY; a niece and 2 nephews.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, Anna & Frank Spaeth; paternal grandparents, Joseph & Clara Grafsgaard and a nephew, Michael Saunders.
Celebration of Life service: Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 2:00p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Visitation: At the request of the family, there will not be a viewing, however friends may sign the memorial register book on Friday, March 8th from 3:00-6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
