Brock Zavalney , 29, Minot, died Friday, April 14, 2023 in a Bismarck Hospital.
Brock was born May 12, 1993 the son of Boyd and Lori (Wonnenberg) Zavalney. He was raised in Minot and graduated from Minot High School. During his younger years, Brock was employed at the family business, Broadway Amoco/Tesoro. He was a shining light to many of their customers.
Later, Brock was employed in the Oil Fields of Western North Dakota. He had also lived most recently in Portland, Oregon.
He was always the sun - drawing people to him with his humor and his way of being able to talk to absolutely anyone. Musically gifted, it would inspire anyone to give music a try too. We will always remember the sound of an amp clicking in, and hearing Jimi Hendrix, Rush, Pink Floyd, any and all 70s rock playing from his room while he played his bass guitar with a fluidity that can never be replaced. Anything and everything were a reason to call from Oregon to tell us about it for 3 hours, even if it was just a cool rock he saw on a walk. We will see him in absolutely everything we do and be at peace knowing he no longer has a battle to win.
If you personally struggle with addiction (drugs, alcohol, or maybe both): PLEASE know that there is a silent battle so many are fighting with you, and that it's OKAY to get help. Reach out for the hands ready to lift you up, and do not fear failure but embrace your success that we will all celebrate together.
His loving family includes, mother, Lori of Minot, father, Boyd of Minot, sister, Mandi of Minot, grandmother Lorraine Wonnenberg of Bismarck, cat, Squirt along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
