Brenda Olafson Darst, 43, Seattle, WA and formerly of Minot died on March 21, 2020 in a Seattle hospital from a very rare neurological disease.
Brenda Lynn Olafson was born on July 30, 1976 in Minot to Arthur and Ethel (Erdman) Olafson. Brenda's parents died in 1986 and 1984 respectively so Brenda moved to Seattle WA in 1985 to live with her sister Linda and Linda's husband and children: Michael, Jeff, Julia and Ashley. She attended Calvary Lutheran Church Elementary School and graduated from Seattle Lutheran High School in 1995. As a student she was involved in Girl Scouts, softball, volleyball, choir, church and was a cheerleader for five years. She continued her education at Highline Community College and graduated in 1999. As a young adult she was employed at Alaska Airlines as a Customer Service Representative from 1999-2013. On Saturdays she worked at Burien Bark Supply, a business owned and operated by family friends.
Brenda met the love of her life, Chris Michael Darst in the Spring of 2007 and they became engaged in December of 2007. Their wedding and reception were in Sun City West, AZ at Chris's parents' home on September 27, 2008. Brenda was so excited to be the best wife and later mom. Brenda's and Chris's first born was Lily May Jo Darst on August 22, 2009 and Parker Michael Darst was their second child on March 7, 2013. She adored her family and loved volunteering for their activities including school, sports, girl scouts and field trips. She was very involved at Hope Lutheran Church with its Children's Church, Vacation Bible School, Spring Teas etc… Brenda was an avid gardener and loved to cook and bake. Brenda was admitted through the E.R. to Swedish Hospital on February 16, 2020 and she went home to heaven to reunite with her mom and dad on March 21, 2020. She died from C-JD, a very rare neurological disease.
Brenda will be remembered joyfully as an amazing, loving, peaceful, beautiful soul. She had a very strong faith and love of God. She touched many lives with her fabulous smile.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents: Arthur and Ethel Olafson, inlaws: Chuck and Linda Darst, uncles: Elwood Olafson, Arnie Mehlhoff, Willard Erdman, Harold (Bernice) Erdman and aunt: Darlene Levchenko.
Brenda's loving family includes her husband: Chris, children: Lily (10) and Parker (7), her second parents on earth: Linda and Michael Wilson, brother: David Olafson and his children: Chelsie Gerber and Jenna Olafson; nephew and nieces raised as siblings: Jeff (Diana) Wilson and their children Carter and Annabelle; Julia (Sean) Stolte and Ashley (Justin) Courtney and their son: Calvin; aunts: Arlene Olafson Mehlhoff and Marlene Erdman and many cousins and friends.
Celebration of the Life of Brenda Olafson Darst: (Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic Restrictions) will be in the Summer of 2020 in Seattle.
