Bradley Allen Borud, 57, Minot died on Thursday, August 28, 2014 in a Minot hospital, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous struggle with cancer.
Brad was born on May 29, 1957 in Minot to Gerald and Geneva (Barber) Borud. He was raised in Minot and attended Minot schools. As a young adult he was employed as steel worker at the Coal Creek Power Plant and as a civilian employee by a local contractor at the Minot Air Force Base. Brad was once married to Debra Sundre and they were the parents of Nicole, Derek and Wyatt. Also, Brad was employed for many years by Leingang Siding and CS Dubois construction companies. Nights and weekends he played the bass guitar for several bands including "Crossfire", "100 Proof", Nickle Dreams, and Da Lizzardz. Brad married his longtime companion Merrie Lou Momerak Marquardt on March 12, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church in Minot.
Brad especially enjoyed woodworking, music, camping and making people laugh.
Brad's loving family includes his wife, children: Nicole and Derek both of Minot and Wyatt (Erin) Werner of Landa; Merrie's children: Aaron (Melissa) Marquardt of Hazen, Rebecca (Leman) Hoffmann of Minot and Rachel (Cody) Edwards of Kenmare; grandchildren: Elyse Borud, Stryker Werner and Lorelai Hebert; Merrie's grandchildren: Dean Marquardt and Trey Edwards; mother: Geneva Adams of Bismarck; father: Gerald Borud of Minot, siblings: Rhonda (Kent) Hartlieb of Minot, Val (Mike) Spalding of St. Paul, Jodi (Tim) LaHaise of Minot, Matthew (Millie) Adams of Texas, Eric (Megan) Borud of Roseau, MN and Shari Northrup of Parshall, ND along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Brad was preceded in death by his stepmother: LuVerne Borud; grandmother: Juanita Borud; grandparents: William and Sarah Jean Stevick and John and Agness Borud.
Celebration of the Life of Brad Borud: Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church Minot.
Interment will be at the Rolling Green Cemetery rural Des Lacs.
Visitation: Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the Zion Lutheran Church Music Ministry.
