Borghild Dahl , 93, Minot and formerly of rural Landa, died on Saturday, May 26, 2007 in a Westhope nursing home.

Borghild was born on March 24, 1914, in Toten, Norway, to Emil and Synnove (Anderson) Evenson. She was raised in Ottestad near Hamar in Norway and was educated there. During World War II she was employed in Oslo and it was there that she met Ferdinand Dahl a U.S. serviceman stationed in Norway. They were married on September 22, 1945 in Hildemarken, Norway. They made their home on a farm in the Landa, North Dakota area before moving to Minot in 1947. Borghild was employed in the laundry department of Trinity Hospital for many years and as a cook at Minot State University prior to her retirement. Ferdinand died on April 8, 1996. Borghild resided at Edgewood Vista in Minot prior to moving to the Westhope nursing home in November of 2005 to be nearer her family.

Borghild was a member of Zion Lutheran Church - Minot where she was active in Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and especially enjoyed her involvement as a lefse maker for the Lutefisk Dinner. She was an excellent baker and always walked everywhere she needed to be. She was an especially kind person who never complained.

Her family includes her nephews: Orvis ("Merle" ) Dahl of Westhope, ND, Curtis (Delores)Dahl of Williston, William (Valerie) Dahl of Watsonville, CA, and Loren (Debbie) Martinson of Weatherford, Texas; nieces: Ardell Cossette of Mack, CO, Judi (Tom) Harlow of Rockford, MI, Debbie (Ron) Mayo of Humble, Texas, and Erlene (Jim) Lowe of Moundville, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews in Norway.

Borghild was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sisters and brothers: Alfred, Ellen, Asta, Lina, Bjarne, Aslaug, Emil and Marit.

Funeral Service: Wednesday May 30, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church - Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation: Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church.
