Bonnie Jene Skjoldal, 75, Minot, went home to be with God, Wednesday, January 22, 2014. She passed away peacefully at Trinity Hospital, Minot due to complications from a stroke and heart attack.
Bonnie was born on the family farm August 11, 1938, a daughter, to Manford "Red" and Gladys (Waswick) Borud. She was raised and educated in rural Des Lacs until moving her senior year of high school with her family to Lemmon, SD, graduating in 1956.
She met the love of her life, Sherman Skjoldal and they were united in marriage on June 15, 1958, in Missoula, MT. Adding to the already blessed union were four children, Steve, Randy, Greg and Shellie.
In the earlier years they returned to Lemmon to raise their children. She worked at Wheeler Manufacturing and always spoke of the many beautiful friendships she made there. Later they moved to Minot, ND where she worked for Lutheran Brotherhood for many years.
Bonnie was known for her pretty red hair and heart of gold. She was always giving and helping others and never walked by anyone without saying hello. She loved music, dancing, playing bingo and a good game of whist, but most of all her family, friends and her Minnesota TWINS.
Bonnie was a true genuine, kind soul whose light will shine forever.
She leaves behind her husband of 55 years, Sherman; four children, Steve Skjoldal, Randy Skjoldal, Greg (Deb) Skjoldal, and Shellie (Darrin) Mayer; grandchildren, Stefanie (Todd) Dauwen, Daniel Skjoldal, David Skjoldal, Randi (Chris) Wurgler, Josh Skjoldal, Cody Skjoldal, Cayla (Manuel) Palacios, Alexis (Patrick) Peterson and Joseph Mayer, four great grandchildren, Morgan, Madison, Savannah and James, sister, Shirley (Bernie) Gossmann and brother, Bruce (Cheri) Borud, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
