Bonita Rae "Bonnie" Lien, 61, Minot died on Sunday, May 30, 2010 in her home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Bonita was born on January 12, 1949 in Minot, ND to Sidney and Gladys (Nachatilo) Lien. She was reared and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1967.
Bonnie was once married to Howard Sprenger and they were the proud parents of two children. They made their home in St. Paul for sixteen years where she was employed by Burlington Northern Railroad. Bonnie returned to Minot in 1985 and attended Minot State university from 1988 - 1992 and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in psychology. Following her graduation from MSU she was employed as a computer technician at Sykes for twelve years until ill health forced her retirement.
Bonnie was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church - Minot. She was very artistic and especially enjoyed reading, music and flower gardening. Also, she took very good care of her pet cat and dog, KoKo and CheeChee, and took great pride in her large fish aquarium.
Bonita's survived by her children: Heidi (Brian) McNeil of Portland, OR and Jamie Sprenger (Rachel Dadovich - fiancée) of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren: Kimberly and Emily; mother: Gladys Lien of Minot and brothers: Richard Lien of Tampa, FL, Howard (Darlene) Lien of Minot, Douglas Lien of Brooklyn Park, MN and Todd (Lorri) Lien of Big Lake, MN and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bonita was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral Service:
Friday, June 4, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Seventh Day Adventist Church - Minot.
Interment
will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation:
Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials
are preferred to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Trinity Hospice or the Souris Valley Animal Shelter.
