Robert Warath SMSgt, USAF, Ret, 67, Minot died on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 in a Minot hospital.
Robert Bryant "Bob" Warath was born on June 5, 1953 in Fayetteville, North Carolina to Neil Bryant and Bernice Leola (Wyne) Warath. He was raised in Fayetteville and Salt Lake City where he attended school. He attained his G.E.D. during his military service. Bob married Nora Pruiett on March 30, 1970. They made their home at various air force bases throughout the world.
Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force on October 4, 1971 and served as a Missile Facility Manager for six years, Fabrication and Parachute Craftsman for ten years and Packing and Crating Technician for eight years. He was stationed at many air force bases throughout the world Minot AFB where he was the Supply Supervisor for the 5 th Munitions Squadron. He received his honorable discharge as a Senior Master Sergeant on October 31, 1995. During his military service he received the AF Achievement Medal, AF Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, AF Training Ribbon, AF Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, AF Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal w/1 Device, AF Longevity Service Award w/ 5 Devices, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship ribbon/Rifle, AF Outstanding Unit Award w/3 Devices and AF Good Conduct Medal w/7 Devices. Bob was very passionate about his service to the United States Air Force and was a very proud and patriotic citizen.
Following his retirement he was employed as a civilian employee at MAFB and at Menard's and various Minot hotels as a custodial engineer.
Bob was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church - Minot and especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, carpentry, woodworking and was a Mr. Fix-it. Most importantly, he was so proud to be "Papa to his beloved granddaughters: Abigail and Evelyn.
Robert's loving family includes his wife of 43 years: Nora; son: Robert "Rob" (Nicole) Warath of Minot; grandchildren: Abigail and Evelyn; siblings: Marsha (Kevin) Legg of St. George Utah, Danny (Julie) Warath and Ronnie Warath all of Salt Lake City Utah; niece: Kari Ann Chavez and nephew: Lonnie Paul Salisbury both of Salt Lake City Utah.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
