Obituary

Blaine Mack , 56, Minot, died Saturday from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident near Wolf Point, MT.

Blaine was born November 5, 1954, one of nine children born to Anton and Magdeline (Schiele) Mack. He was educated at Karlsruhe High School and graduated with the class of 1972.

Blaine began employment with the Burlington Northern Railroad on May 19, 1975, serving on the track department and then in 1976, moved into transportation working as a conductor both on Amtrak and freight.

Blaine was united in marriage to Maria Hystad on August 26, 1978, in Karlsruhe, ND. They made their home in Minot. In December of 1979, they were blessed with Kiley, then in August 1982 with Justin.

Blaine was a hard working man and always had a smile on his face that lighted the room he was in; What a social butterfly. Many friends were made on trips to the hardware store.

Blaine was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot as well as the United Transportation Union. He enjoyed bird hunting with his friends each fall and loved to ride motorcycle when time would allow. Blaine was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed.

Blaine's surviving family includes his loving wife of 33 years, Maria; children, Kiley Mack, Colorado Springs, CO and Justin Mack, Tempe, AZ; parents, Anton and Magdeline Mack, Karlsruhe; sisters, Beverly (Ted) Bossert, Shirley Mack, Sheila Olson and Tina (Andy) Telehey; brothers, Sid (Lynda) Mack, Scott, Bruce & Sheldon Mack; mother-in-law & fahter-in-law, Ingrid and Marvin Jensen; brother-in-law, Milner Hystad; sisters-in-law, Renie Sauvageau, Michaela (Don) Wible, Marlein (David) Aaseth and Nichole Jensen; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and his granddogs, Gator, Surrey and Murrey.

Blaine was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Mass Of Christian Burial: Friday, August 26, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.
Vigil Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. in St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.
