Obituary

Billie Crawford , 87, Minot died on Saturday, April 28, 2012 in his home.

Billie was born April 28, 1925, in Casey Township of Ransom County, North Dakota to Clair and Audrey (Falconer) Crawford. He moved with his family to Donnybrook in 1935 and to Granville in 1937 where he finished his education by graduating with the Granville High School Class of 1944.

He was drafted into the US Army in April 1944 serving our country honorably until his discharge on April 26, 1946. Following his discharge he returned to North Dakota and began his lifelong career as an electrician with Minot Electrical Contractors in September of 1947.

Billie was joined in marriage to Marian Johnson on September 20, 1951. They made their home in Minot and in the upper Midwest throughout the years. Billie retired in 1988.

Throughout the years, he was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church, Minot, serving in several capacities. Billie also carried active memberships in the community of Minot to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #714 Union, American Legion, BPOE Elks, and volunteered hours of service to Trinity Hospital and Trinity Hospice.

His family includes his loving wife of 60 years, Marian, Minot; children, William (Luann) Crawford, Otsego, MN, Kathleen Crawford (Rynnie Pariseau), Rapid City, SD, Margaret Crawford (Keith Marshall), Minot and Thomas (Roxane) Crawford, Fargo, ND; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Billie was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Helen Thompson and Joan Cervantes and brothers, Robert, Kenneth and Donald Crawford.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Bread of Life Lutheran Church due to 2011 flood of Augustana Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Riverside Cemetery, rural Eckman, ND
At Bill's request there will be no reviewal, however family and friends are invited to sign the memorial register book on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials are preferred to Trinity Hospice or to Augustana Lutheran Church, both of Minot.
