Bill Blore, 86, longtime Minot resident died on Monday, October 4, 2026 in a Dickinson nursing home.

William Harold Blore was born on February 5, 1940 in Linton, ND to Banyor and Edith (Coordes) Blore. He was raised and educated in Minot, graduated from Minot High School in 1958 and from Minot State University with a degree in Business Education.

Bill married JoAnn Nelson on June 23, 1963, at Congregational Church of Christ in Minot. They made their home in Minot where Bill was employed by the YMCA as the youth program director and then at the Ward County Courthouse as a juvenile probation officer, county commissioner and for thirty six years as a judicial referee. He retired in 1996 and moved to Tucson before returning to Minot in 2002, returning to the work force as a security investigator at Minot Air Force Base for 10 years.

Bill was a member of First Lutheran Church and its church council. Also, he was a member of the Kiwanis Club and Souris Valley Golf Course Men’s Club. He especially enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, tennis, racquetball and softball.

Bill’s loving family includes his wife of 63 years JoAnn; children: Jennifer Ann Blore of Minot and Mark (Tawnel) Blore of Dickinson; grandson: Isaac; sister: Betty (Charles) Hatcher of Colorado Springs CO and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Donald and James.

Celebration of the Life of Bill Blore: Friday, October 9, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in First Lutheran Church – Minot. A livestream of the service may be viewed by using https://flcminot.com/view-worship/ or https://www.youtube.com/@FirstLutheranMinot/streams.

Interment will be at Rosehill Memorial Park – Minot.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the church.

Memorials are preferred to KALIX, Souris Valley Animal Shelter, ASPCA or Meals on Wheels.
