Beverly Lorraine Wick , 76, Minot, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008 in at her home from complications of cancer surrounded by her loving family.
Beverly was born August 1, 1931 at Minot, North Dakota the daughter of Alle and Hazel (Hughes) Huizenga. She was raised and educated at Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1949.
Bev was united in marriage to Raymond "Ray" Wick on October 2, 1954 at Minot. They have made their home in Minot these past many years, where along with raising their three children, she also began work with Kmart in 1979 as a sales clerk, and worked in that capacity for fifteen years until retiring in 1994.
Bev was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Minot, where she was once active with the Women's Circle groups and taught Sunday school. She enjoyed doing fancy needle work, making baby quilts for newborns for family and friends. She enjoyed baking and canning, especially pickles, and strawberry and rhubarb jam.
She loved having lunch with "the girls" , along with spending time with family.
Bev will be sadly missed by her loving family, which includes: her husband of fifty-three years, Ray; Daughters, Marie (Rodney) Greene, Grand Forks, ND, & Karen Katterhenry, and her boyfriend, Mark David, Sunset, La; Son: Russell (Bobbie) Wick, Westminster, CO; Grandchildren: Stephen McCollum, Amy Jones, Brad Katterhenry, Deidre Greene, Daren Greene and Nathen Wick. Step-Grandchildren: Keith and Andy Katterhenry and Crystal Kirkland; Great-Granddaughter: Fancie McCollum; Brother: Wayne (Vi) Huizenga, Minot; Sister-in-law: Lillian (Gordon) Larson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Dustin Greene, Aunt, Betty Schirk, and nephew, Brian Huizenga.
Funeral service
: Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 11:00a.m. in First Presbyterian Church, Minot.
Interment
: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
Visitation
Monday from 2:00-7:00pm in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
