Beverly Clair Olson, 82, lifelong Minot resident, died Monday, March 7, 2016 in a Minot Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Beverly was born February 27, 1934 at Minot, North Dakota the daughter of Clarence and Mabel (Bjorn) Korgel. She was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot Model High School in 1952. During her younger years, she was employed at Bell Telephone as a long distance operator from 1952 to 1953.

Beverly was united in marriage to Leonard Olson on June 12, 1953 in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where in addition to raising their two children, she was also employed at Northern States Power Company (later Xcel Energy) as a telephone operator from 1968-1980. She later worked at Midwest Federal Savings Bank from 1980-1987 and at Choice Hotels from 1992 until 2004. Leonard died January 24, 1990.

Bev was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church, Minot, where she actively served the Church in assisting with the food booths at the Hostfest and as past president of the CLCW. She was also a member of the Minot Model Alumni Association, where she served as the secretary and historian from 1996-2009 and continued with the board of directors until 2011. She enjoyed cooking, especially her amazing special k bars and klub. She enjoyed putting together puzzles and spending time with her family. She was a friend to many and made time for all in her life.

Her loving family includes , daughter, Deborah Olson (Lloyd Yantes), Minot; grandchildren: Jesse Olson and Melissa Olson, both of Minot; great grandchildren to include: Kelsey, Colton and Brody Olson, Hayden Olson; daughters-in-law, Wanda Olson and Linda Clark, both of Minot; brother: Clayton Korgel, Highlands Ranch, CO and sister, Betty LaViolette, Las Vegas, NV; several nieces and nephews.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leonard, son, Paul Olson, an infant brother; sister-in-law, Barbara Korgel and brother-in-law, Charles LaViolette.

Celebration of Life service : Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Christ Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment : Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Wednesday, March 16th from 3:00-6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Christ Lutheran Church.
