Beverly Ann "Bev" Lorenz , 84, Minot, died Monday, May 21, 2018 in her home surrounded by her family and hospice.

Bev was born June 30, 1933 at Minot, North Dakota the daughter of Benjamin and Olga (Larsgard) Neshem. She was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1951. During her younger years, she was employed at the Montgomery Ward Department Store in Spokane, Washington for a short time before returning to Minot.

Bev was united in marriage to Herman Lorenz on November 4, 1951 in Minot. They made their home on a farmstead in Nedrose Township, north of Minot, where they raised their three daughters and grew small grains and cattle. Bev was employed at ManorCare Healthcare Center as Activity Director for three years in the 1970's. Herman died May 4, 2006. Bev had continued to live on the homestead these past number of years.

Bev was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Minot, where she served as a volunteer in a number of capacities. She was a volunteer for Trinity Hospice and a member of McKinley Homemakers Club. She enjoyed knitting, reading, along with visiting with family and friends. Her kind and gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

Her loving family includes, daughter, Linda (Dallas) Myers, Minot; Sandy Lewis, Minot and Cathy (Daryl) Wissink, Rugby; 9 grandchildren to include: Laurie (LeRoy) Schlichting, Wendy (Kenny) Klaudt, Jonathan (Karen) Myers, Scott (Beth) Haakenson, Sarah Haakenson, Sherry (Ben) Stiles, Andrea (Jonathan) Deckert, Renae (Tyler) Schmidt, Ryan (Mindy) Wissink; 32 great grandchildren to include: Rebecca, Daniel, Benjamin, and Ezekiel Schlichting; Savanna Steffen; Sheyanne and Carson Hayes; Noah, Ayden, and Austin Myers; Caleb, Ryan, Deena, and Arionna Haakenson; Andre Chose; Payton Lord; Delaney Weilder; Ben Stiles; Elizabeth, Josh, Abigail, James, Josiah, and John Deckert; Caleb, Aaron, Jocelyn, and Katelyn Schmidt; Emma, Aubrey, Lilia, and Oren Wissink; brother, Gordon Neshem, Minot; along with several nieces and nephews.

Bev was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 55 years, Herman: brothers, Duane, Richard and Dale Neshem; sisters in law, Marion Neshem, Carol Neshem, Lillian Hawthorne, and Alvina Doerr; brothers in law, AR Doerr and Walter Hawthorne.

Celebration of Life service: Friday, May 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in First Baptist Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot. Memorials are preferred to First Baptist Church or Missions projects.
