Beulah 'Bee' Saunders, 93, Minot, died Sunday, March 01, 2020, at Somerset Court, an assisted living facility in Minot.

Beulah was born October 14, 1926, in Baker, ND, to Carl and Elna (Knutson) Solberg. She grew up in Baker and attended school there through her sophomore year. Bee graduated from Maddock High School in 1943.

Bee attended the Trinity School of Nursing in Minot. During her schooling, Bee also was a member of the US Cadet Nurse Corp through her graduation from the nursing program in 1946. Following graduation, she began her career as a registered nurse at Trinity Hospital in Minot.

Bee was united in marriage to Richard 'Rich' Saunders on June 18, 1947, in Baker, ND. They made their home in Minot. Bee worked as a private duty nurse for a couple of years, in addition to taking on new roles as wife and mother to Jill Suzanne and Joan Denise.

Bee was active in First Presbyterian Church in Minot, where she taught Sunday school, served as president of the Women's Association and served in church circles for many years. She is currently a member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Minot and a past member of the ND State Pharmaceutical Auxiliary.

Bee enjoyed a good book to read, a game of bridge with her friends and in her active years could be found on the tennis court. She loved baseball and was a lifelong Twins fan. Bee was also a decades-long member of the PEO, which recently honored her for her longtime support. Bee and Rich traveled extensively during their loving marriage of 58 years, visiting locales all over the country and the world. Rich passed away March 23, 2006.

Bee is survived by her daughters Jill (Jonathan) Garaas, Fargo, ND, and Joan Saunders, New York, NY; grandchildren Rachel (Garaas) Madden, Hollis, NH, Sarah Garaas, Columbus, OH, and Leah Garaas, Los Gatos, CA; great-grandchildren Elin and Aksel Madden, Hollis, NH; sister Joan Simonson, Minot; and nieces and nephews Bruce Simonson, Carriere, MS, Lori (Simonson) Wagar, Bemidji, MN, Reed Simonson, Belgrade, MT, and Julie (Simonson) Quammen, Minot.

Bee was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, grandson Nathan Garaas and brother-in-law James Simonson.

Celebration of Bee Saunders: 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2020, at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND
Visitation: Thursday, March 5, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers and plants to Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, Minot.
