Betty Schall , 84, Minot, died Wednesday, February 7, 2024, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Betty Ann Schall was born on December 14, 1939, in Minot, North Dakota to parents John and Susan (Straub) Dufner. She was raised near Lansford on a family farm with her ten siblings.  She attended St. Agnes Academy in Kenmare, graduating in 1957.

Following her education, she worked endless hours alongside Dr. Stroble, then Dr. Kubicki in his office, at K-Mart in the children's department, and managing a family-owned restaurant located in the "M" in downtown Minot.  She met her husband, Ed Schall, in 1956 at a dance at the Club 52; dancing would be a love they shared for a lifetime.  Betty married Ed on August 26, 1959, at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Minot. Following their marriage, the couple moved into many homes between Minot and Williston. They became dedicated members of The Knight's of Columbus, the Elks, Eagles and the Moose Club.  Betty clocked countless hours behind the scenes at home, ending her career she worked alongside Ed in NorthStar Steel, Inc. Retiring in 1990, Betty continued to make her house a home for her family.

In her later years, Betty enjoyed traveling and spending time at the lake and on the golf course.  She and Ed couldn't have been happier spending their winter months in their Arizona homes.  Betty had many hobbies, her favorite among them all being baking.  On top of being a great mother, Betty was a great host.  She loved to throw parties everyone could enjoy.  Since she was a child, Betty has been devoted to her Catholic faith.  She attended church regularly on Sundays and spent hours volunteering and servicing the church.  Betty sent all five of her children to Bishop Ryan Catholic School, where she dedicated herself and later was inducted into their Hall of Fame with her husband, Ed.

In her final years of life, she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.  Although she was changing in ways that were hard to understand, she never forgot how to smile, laugh, dance, bake and have a good time.  Betty was compassionate and kind; she always put others before herself.  She will be missed dearly and left a hole in our hearts.

Betty is survived by: her husband, Edward Schall; children, Alois (Nancy) Schall of Minot, Clyde Schall of Parker, CO, Daniel Schall of Minot, Deneen (Dennis) Phillips of St. Louis, MO, and Fay (Steve) Alexander of Minot; grandchildren, Nick, Megan,  Amber (Robb) Rotramel, Carly, MacKenzie, Hayden, Markelle and Maura Alexander; great-grandchildren, Brielle, Bowen, Kimber, Skylah, Breckyn and Millie; siblings, Vernita Broderick, Loreen (Mike) Kiskila, Theresa Bowen; in-laws, Jake Schall, Pius Tuchscherer, and Sharen Dufner, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
