Betty Jane Friddle , 85, Minot died Monday, December 7, 2015 in a Minot hospital.
Betty was born on September 29, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Anna (Yourish) Ewert. She grew up and was educated in Chicago, where she graduated from Harrison High School in 1948.
Betty married Lester Rabb at an early age. This union was blessed with two children, Karen and Steven. They later separated and Betty raised Steve alone until she was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) Friddle May 22, 1963. They made their home in St. Paul, MN, where she was a homemaker and Bob worked as the terminal manager for Twin City Freight. The family grew with the birth of Robert (Rob). In 1975, Bob became the owner of the Twin City Freight terminal in Minot, ND where Bob and Betty spent their remaining years. Betty worked at the family business as the office manager. Bob died August 15, 1999.
In addition to assisting her husband, Betty provided a loving home for her family. She enjoyed cooking, walking, grandchildren, pets, embroidery, and helping others. When not spending time with family and friends, she could often be found enjoying a good book.
Betty was a member of the Bible Fellowship Church, Minot, where she was active with the women's group and the bible study group. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi women's sorority. She also volunteered countless hours at Trinity's various gift shops.
In 2013, Betty became a resident at Trinity Homes where she will be fondly remembered for her happy and funny disposition. She will be deeply missed by all who shared in her life.
Betty's loving family includes her children, Steven (Carol) Friddle, Minot, ND, Rob (Jean Murra) Friddle, New Richmond, WI and Karen Rabb, Downingtown, PA; grandchildren, Christen (Matthew) Murphy, Nashville, TN, Stephanie Friddle, Elizabethtown, KY and Ryan Friddle, New Richmond, WI; stepchildren, Patricia (Gary) Handy, Erie, CO and Nova (Rick) Baranski, Downers Grove, IL.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert Friddle.
Celebration of Life Service: 1:00 p.m. Monday December, 14 2015, at Trinity Homes Chapel, Minot.
Interment: Mennonite Brethren Cemetery, rural Sawyer, ND
Visitation: Sunday December 13, 2015 from noon p.m. until 4:00 at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the Souris Valley Animal Shelter of Minot.
