Obituary

Elizabeth Jean (Lowe) Aga, 94, longtime Minot resident, died Sunday, November 29, 2020 at her home in Edgewood Vista.

Betty was born on March 4, 1926 the daughter of Albert and Pearl (Dopp) Lowe in Minot, North Dakota. She was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1944. She continued her education at Minot State Teacher's College until 1946, when she started working at the Ward County Welfare Office for two years as a secretary.

Betty was united in marriage to Duane Aga on June 4, 1948 in Minot. She was employed with Sterns Motors and Quality Lignite until they moved to Denver, Colorado in 1949, where Duane enrolled at Denver University to complete his college education. While living in Denver, Betty worked at Sherwin Williams Paint Company as a bookkeeper. After Duane graduated in 1951, they returned to Minot, where they raised their three children, Alan, Roger and Carol Jean.

Betty was employed part time for both of her brothers, Jim and Bob Lowe as needed at either Lowe's Garden Center or Lowes Printing from 1966-1971. She eventually returned to her bookkeeping skills full time in 1971 at Lowes Printing, until she retired in 1989. Betty was gifted not only with a green thumb, but excelled in her culinary talents. In retirement, Betty and Duane enjoyed many years of snowbird travel making innumerable friends along the way. She was a lifetime member of Vincent United Methodist in Minot. Duane died February 7, 2014.

Betty is survived by her children, Alan (Beth) Aga, Minot, Roger, Idaho and Carol (Greg) Mathwich, Minot; 5 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Duane, brothers, Philip, James and Robert and a sister, Della Mae.

Private family graveside service: will take place at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

A Memorial Service of Remembrance: will take place the Summer of 2021.
