Bertha Olson, 95, Minot and formerly of Granville died on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 in a Minot healthcare center.
Bertha was born on December 12, 1913 in the Simcoe area to Otis and Annie (Knutson) Lee. She was reared on the family farm near Simcoe and attended rural schools in that area.
Bertha married Edwin H. Olson in 1931 and they made their home in Granville prior to moving to Minot in 1945 where she was a fulltime homemaker and mother and served as a book keeper for her husband's construction business.
Bertha was a member of First Lutheran Church - Minot and the Minot Senior Citizens as well as the Floral Rebekah Lodge. She especially enjoyed bowling, cooking and baking.
Bertha is survived by her daughter-in-law: Beverly Olson of Minot; grandchildren: Deborah Olson (Lloyd Yantes) and Paul (Linda) Olson both of Minot; two great grandchildren: Jesse (Heather) Olson and Melissa Olson; great great grandchildren: Kelsey, Colton and Brody; sisters: Irene Parge and Hazel Thomas both of Minot and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter: Ethel Olson, son: Leonard Olson, sister: Mildred Crawford and brother: Albert Lee.
Funeral Service:
Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Pioneer Chapel of First Lutheran Church - Minot.
Interment
will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation:
Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral home - Minot.
Memorials
are preferred to First Lutheran Church or to the donor's choice.
