Bernice Puklich, 65, Steele, died Friday, November 9, 2018 in a Bismarck hospital.

Bernice was born February 25, 1953 in Ashley, ND to Anton and Julia Meier. She attended and graduated from Steele High school in 1971.

Bernice was united in marriage to Anthony Puklich on July 9, 1971 at St, Francis De Sales Catholic church in Steele. They moved to the family farm located 6 miles south of Steele in 1972, where they were blessed with 5 children.

Throughout Bernice's life she had various occupations. She was a homemaker, certified nursing assistant, and a house cleaner. After she was diagnosed with cancer in 2016, she was forced to focus on her health and retired.

Bernice raised 5 children with her late husband Anthony. She enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking, music, and shopping for her grandchildren. In the last year of her life she found companionship with Olmstead Adams. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with their dogs Molly and Bozley.

Bernice loved to spend time with family and friends. She was always on the go and never missed a family event. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her life.

She was a member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic church in Steele. Bernice was a loving mother, grandmother, trusted sister and true friend. She will be missed by all who shared her life.

Bernice is survived by her 5 children, Lisa (Gene) Wetzstein, Tampa, FL, Garrick (Joanna) Puklich, New Brighton, MN, Greg Puklich, St Paul, MN, Desiree (Jason) Harter, Rapid City, SD, Shawn (Ashley) Puklich, Napoleon, ND; 10 Grandchildren: Jacob and Caleb Wetzstein, Rylan and Ava Harter, Kamden and Paxton Puklich and Riley and Brynlee Dewald, and Abigail and Anthony Puklich; fiancé, Olmstead Adams; 8 brothers and sisters: Rosemary Puklich, Luella (Keith) Draeger, Kenny (Linda) Meier, Victor (Sarah) Meier, Delores (Stan) Fossum, Anna (Lorin) Kahl, Debbie (Craig) Hester, and Andy Meier along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Julia Meier; husband, Anthony Puklich; sister, Elsie Volk, daughter-in-law, Laura Puklich; 2 brothers, Valens Meier and Anthony Meier and an infant brother, Isadore Meier.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 15, 2018 at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Steele, ND
Evening Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Steele, ND
Interment: Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Steele, ND
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until the start of the prayer service at the church.
