Bernice Jane Corrigan, 93, Minot died on Friday, January 15, 2016 in a Minot healthcare center.

Bernice was born on March 24, 1922 in Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada to Roy and Lillie (Madill) Snider. She was reared on the family farm, attended country schools in the Cando, Saskatchewan area and graduated. As a young adult Bernice was employed as a telephone operator in Cando.

Bernice married Cecil L. Corrigan on January 27, 1942 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. They made their home in various towns of Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Bernice was employed as a bookkeeper for Monarch Lumber in Hawarden, Manitoba for seven years. Later, when the family lived in Virden, Manitoba, Bernice worked in the Virden Hardware Store until she became a fulltime wife, mother and homemaker. The family moved to Mohall in 1955 and to Minot in 1959. Cecil died on December 6, 2002. Bernice resided in Edgewood Vista for the ten years prior to moving to Manorcare Healthcare Center in Minot.

Bernice was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ, Minot, where she was active in the Priscilla Circle. She volunteered at the Pilgrim Shoppe and enjoyed making quilts for church sales. Bernice had a talent for sewing and she was very generous in giving away her beautiful clothing and crafts. Her first priority was her family. Moving to a new country instilled in her the belief that she would keep her family close and she was always available to travel to where her children lived to lend comfort and support. She traveled to Montana, Utah, Kansas, and New York to be with her children and grandchildren.

Bernice's loving family includes: children: Carol (Larry) Bellew of Minot, Linda (Gregory) Cool of Minot and Don (Paula) Corrigan of Salina, KS; grandchildren: Erin Bellew (Tyler Preston), Michael (Rachael) Bellew, Shanda Cool (Patrick Sheldon), Mason (Jennifer) Cool, Adam (Alyssa) Cool, Sharlynn Corrigan, Shannon Corrigan and Dylan Corrigan; great-grandchildren: Jaxton and Beckett Cool, Trip Eeles, Mira Sheldon and Cecily Cool; sister: Edythe (Don) McLean, North Battleford, Sask.; sisters-in-laws: Naedean Mitchell, Battleford, Sask. and Louise Snider, Cochin, Sask. and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters: Joyce Snider and Louise Hartman and brother: Norman Snider.

Celebration of the Life of Bernice Corrigan: Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Congregational United Church of Christ in Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation: Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials are preferred to the Congregational United Church of Christ.
