Barbara “Candy” Mathney, 67, Minot, formerly of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, died Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in her home.

Barbara Candace Mathney was born March 1, 1959, in Hollywood, Florida to Roy and Doris Mathney. She was raised and educated in Davie, FL and attended Plantation High School. She resided in Florida until 2011 when she moved to Minot, ND to be nearer to her son Jeff and his family.

Candy was a loving, caring person and made everyone feel like family. You could often find her working on some sort of arts and crafts project, but she truly enjoyed spending time with her family.

Barbara’s family includes her sons Jeff Feeley (Rebekah Dolbeare), Minot and Jayson Chapman, Maine, grandchildren James Feeley, Bismarck, Jeremyah Feeley, Minot and Jade Warbitsky, Minot, siblings Melody Wolff and Doren Holder, both of Florida, and daughter-in-law Anna Feeley (Israel Torres), Minot.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and sister Lynn Mathney.

A private family gathering was held at Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
