Barbara Belgarde, 79, Minot died peacefully on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 in a Minot nursing home.
Barbara Jane was born on September 23, 1941 in Minot to Orvis and Hazel (Ronk) Llewellyn. She was raised and educated in Minot. As a young adult she cared for her mother.
Barbara married Lawrence "Chick" Belgarde on November 13, 1964 in Minot. Later, their marriage was blessed at St. Leo's Catholic Church. They made their home in Minot for many years except for a short time spent in Virginia and Belcourt. Barb was employed as a childcare provider. Chick died on August 8, 2001. Barbara had continued to reside in Minot most recently at Edgewood Vista, Maple View and Trinity Homes.
Barb was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church – Minot and she especially enjoyed gardening, card playing and darts.
Barbara is survived by her brother: Ralph Llewellyn; nieces: Heidi, Sarah, Melinda and Karen and nephews: Tim, Ralph Jr., Johnny and Ricky. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings: Albert Llewellyn and Ovida (Harold) Ofsthun, sister-in-law: Mona Llewellyn, niece: Darlene and nephews: Jimmy and Harold Jr.
The family would like to especially thank the staff at Trinity Homes for the special care provided to our sister and aunt for the past four years.
Liturgy of the Word Service: Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home Chapel. Face coverings are recommended.
Rosary Recitation: Monday at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign a register book on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials are preferred to the Souris Valley United Way-Backpack Buddies Program or the Our Lady of Grace Food Pantry.
