Obituary

Audrey Christine Holbert , 83, Spokane, Washington and formerly of Parshall, Newburg and Minot died on Thursday, August 21, 2014 in a Spokane hospital.

Audrey was born on January 30, 1931 in Waite Park, Minnesota to Knute and Ella (Anderson) Carlson. She was reared and educated in Odessa, Minnesota and graduated from Odessa High School in 1949. As a young adult she was employed as a switchboard operator in Aberdeen, SD.

Audrey married Howard Holbert on December 24, 1953 in Britton, SD. They made their home in Britton prior to moving to Parshall, ND in 1963 where she was employed as a Dental Assistant by Dr. Harold Stewart from 1967 - 1977 and they owned and operated the Standard Oil Service Station. They moved to Newburg, ND in 1978 where Audrey was self-employed as a seamstress prior to moving to Minot in 2004. Howard died on August 7, 2006. Audrey moved to Spokane in May 2008.

Audrey attended First Lutheran Church - Parshall, Dovre Lutheran Church - Newburg and Bethany Lutheran Church - Minot. She especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed and was renowned for her skills in crocheting, sewing and quilting.

Audrey's loving family includes her children: Colonel (Ret) Mike (Angela) Holbert of Woodbridge, VA, Joanne (Robert) Diffely of Plaza and Chief Master Sergeant (Ret) Steve (Heidi) Holbert of Spokane WA; her sons-in-law Tony Rademacher of New Rockford, ND and Mark (Neva) Walsh of Williston, ND. Her grandchildren include: Shawn (Sonja) Diffely, Jason (Denise) Diffely, Steven (Abby) Diffely, Chad Diffely, Melissa (Kristen) Schepp, Jon (Dawn) Walsh, Jennifer (Shawn) Damron, Abigail, Christian, Elizabeth and Grant Holbert, Corey (Shannon) Rademacher, James (Delaine) Rademacher, Tina Hilbert and Alex Kimbrough. Her great grandchildren are Bree, Lexi, Ellie, and Grayson Diffely; Kinsey, Megan and Lynzee Schepp; Colby, Logan and Jayden Walsh; Harley and Cheyanne Damron; Savannah, Carsyn, Clayre and Coltyn Hilbert; Sam Jaeger; Beau and Ryder Rademacher; Braxton and Brayton Meehan; and Brayden Kimbrough. As well as her brother Lloyd (Carol) Carlson of Greeley, CO and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband and daughters: Connie Rademacher and Debbie Walsh, great granddaughter Kailei Walsh and her sisters: Myrna Howen and Jeanette Schulte.

Celebration of the Life of Audrey Holbert: Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Bethany Lutheran Church - Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation: Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to American Cancer Society.
