Audrey Hirsch Barney Mulder, 79, Minot formerly of Rochester, New York died on April 15, 2017 in a Minot healthcare center.
Audrey was born on January 20, 1938 in Rochester, New York to Peter and Dora (Hopf) Hirsch. She was reared by Dora and her husband Edward "Ted" Clancy who was a father figure to Audrey and her siblings. She was educated in Spencerport, NY and graduated from Spencerport High School in 1955. She was once married to Arthur Barney and sold real estate in the Rochester area until her retirement.
Audrey was united in marriage to John Mulder on July 2, 1983 in Rochester, NY. They made their home in Churchill, NY until his retirement. Then, they resided in North Carolina and Tucson AZ. John died on February 6, 1997. Later that year she moved to Minot to be closer to her son and his family.
Audrey was a member of the Magic City Duplicate Bridge Club, and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) which awarded her with the Rocky Mountain Region's Volunteer of the year Award in 2003. She was instrumental in sewing hats for cancer patients and especially enjoyed playing bridge and bird watching.
Audrey\'s loving family includes her son: Chuck (Leslie) Barney of Minot; grandchildren: Chris Barney and Kelsey (Zach) Aller; step daughter: Peggy (Jim) Crowley of Rochester, NY; step daughter-in-law: Jeanette Mulder of Rochester NY; siblings: Vivian (Richard) Colby of Liberty SC and Sandy (Harlow) Cushman of Hamlin NY; good friend Ione Metz; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, husband: John Mulder and step brother: Jim Clancy.
Public Visitation: Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Private Service: Saturday, April 29 at 11:00 a.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home Chapel - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the Salvation Army or the Minot State University Severson Entrepreneurship Academy.
