Arthur Moore Jr ., 69, Minot, formerly of South Bend, IN died Sunday, November 1, 2020 in a Minot hospital.
Arthur was born May 22, 1951 in South Bend, IN to Arthur and Odessa (Jackson) Moore. He spent his youth very active in Track and Field and Basketball in South Bend and graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1970.
Arthur joined the US Air Force on November 3, 1970. Arthur was united in marriage to Marylou Warner on April 20, 1979 in Angeles City of the Philippines. This union was blessed with three children. They followed his military assignments to Luke AFB in Glendale, AZ, Anderson AFB in Guam until settling in Minot for his final assignment at the Minot Air Force Base in 1986. Arthur was honorably discharged on November 30, 1994.
Arthur started his second career at Burdick Job Corps later that year and worked the next decade and a half as a Resident Advisor until his retirement.
He enjoyed watching sporting events on television and was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Bears and Notre Dame fighting Irish. In the summer, he looked forward to traveling home to Indiana for numerous family reunions. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren, whom he loved unconditionally. Arthur will be missed by all who were blessed to share in his life.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Marylou, Minot; children Calvin Warner, Tucson, AZ, Wesley (Kayla) Moore, Lakeville, MN and Darlene (Grant) Wood, Omaha, NE; grandchildren Terrell, Tiyah, Jerica, Skylar and Lyanna Moore and Cooper, Milo and Evelyn Wood; sisters Edna (Thomas) Moore, Cynthia Nicholson, Sylvia Moore and Alesia (Jeff) Mitchell, all of South Bend, IN; brother Garry Moore, South Bend, IN; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family that includes Bri Hornaday, Michelle and Marcus Carter and their children, Taniah, Tayvon, Tamari and Tamia.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, sister Judy Moore and brother Spencer Moore.
Private Service to Honor Arthur Moore Jr. : 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2020 at the Thomas Family Funeral Home. A link to stream the service will be available at https://www.mtmsales.net/thomas
Public Visitation
will be held one hour prior to the start of the service at the funeral home Thursday evening.
Memorials
