Arliss Radford, 81, Minot died on Thursday, January 25, 2024 in her home with her family at her side. She had been struggling with congestive heart failure for nine months.

Arliss Kay was born on May 16, 1942 in Minot to John "Jack" and Genevieve (Lindsley) Thompson.  She was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1960.

Arliss married Andrew Radford on October 28, 1960 at Zion Lutheran Church in Minot.  They made their home in Portland, OR for a short time before they returned to Minot in 1963 when they started their family.  They were longtime residents of 26th Street S.W. in Minot.  Arliss was a fulltime wife, mother and homemaker until 1975 when she became a daycare provider at First Lutheran Church Daycare.  In 1980, she began her career in food service at Minot State University.  She retired in August of 1999 following 19 years of service to the university.  She and Andy had spent the winter months in Nevada for many years.

Arliss was a longtime member of Augustana Lutheran Church – Minot and its WELCA.  Due to the flood of 2011, she transferred her membership to Bread of Life Lutheran Church - Minot where she was a member of the women's group.  Arliss especially enjoyed counter-cross stitch, crocheting, hair-pin lace, cooking, canning, baking and collecting Precious Moments figurines.  Also, she enjoyed watching the Vikings and Twins, listening to country music and traveling throughout the U.S. and cruises to the Caribbean, Hawaii and Mexico.

A special thank you to Trinity Homes, UND Center For Family Medicine and Trinity Hospice for the wonderful care given to Arliss in her final days with family.

Arliss' loving family includes her husband of 63 years: Andy; children:  Cheri (Al Schon) Radford of Minot, Steven (Jenifer) Radford of Everett WA and Michael Radford of Bothell WA; grandchildren Jonathan, Caleb, Jackson, Victoria, Cierra (Mark Nekouei), Emma, Trance, Noah, Jayden, Brendon (Clarissa), Jeremy, Naomi and Isabella; great grandson Israel "Izzy"; brother-in-law Darrell (Peggy) Hight of Washburn; special friends Gordon Malaterre, Sandy and Virgil Jundt and Jim Carroll along with several nieces, nephews and cousins and many of Andy's family members in Virginia.

Arliss was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Sandy Hight and Shirley Thompson.

Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park.
Visitation: Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home – Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Bread of Life Lutheran Church.
