Arlene Marie Stading, 69, Minot and formerly of Hebron died on Sunday, May 17, 2009 in a Minot hospital.
Arlene was born on October 6, 1939 on a farm near Hebron, ND to Kenneth and Lydia (Huber) Elder. She was reared and educated in rural schools prior to attending Hebron High School. Arlene married Vernon Stading on November 8, 1956 in Hebron, ND. They made their home in Hebron until 1963 when they moved to Minot. Arlene was a fulltime wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
Arlene was a charter member of Faith United Methodist Church - Minot. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, word searches and always had time to watch a game of basketball. Arlene felt the single greatest accomplishment of her life was her children and their families. She will be deeply missed by all who shared in her life.
Arlene's loving family includes her husband of 52 years Vernon; children: June Storey of Albuquerque NM, Jolene Puhalla of Bismarck, Cindy (Pastor Rick) Craig of Cando, Valerie Stading of Eagan MN, Connie (Ted) Endicott of Columbus, OH and Vernon Stading Jr. of Farmington MN; grandchildren: Sean Storey, Erin (John) Tinney; Joe, Justin (Vera), and Jordan Puhalla; Katie, Kyle, and Kristen Craig; and Lacee Stading; great grandchildren: Lilly Puhalla and Leah Sime; brothers: Clarence (Sylvia) Elder and Gary (Paulette) Elder both of Hebron and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Alfred Elder and sister, Isabel Rebel.
Funeral Service:
Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Faith United Methodist Church - Minot.
Family Service:
Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at 7:30 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment
: Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation:
Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials
are preferred to all entities involved in cancer research.
