Arlene Ione Lafontaine , 88, longtime Minot resident, died Wednesday, July 10, 2019 in a Minot Nursing Home.

Arlene was born November 20, 1930 to Ole and Helen Melting of Alymer North Dakota. Her family eventually settled in Berthold North Dakota where she graduated in 1949.   Arlene married Roger Lafontaine at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot North Dakota on February 15, 1952.

Arlene and Roger had two children, Geary born in 1955 and Christine Born in 1957.

During her career Arlene worked at First National Bank for 26 years, and later at Metropolitan Federal.  She retired in 1993.

Arlene is survived by her husband Roger, daughter Christine and her husband Randy, grandchildren Micah, Matthew, Elizabeth and Sophia, as well as 12 great grandchildren.

Arlene was preceded in death by her mother, father and infant son Geary.

Celebration of Life service : Monday, July 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Veterans Section of Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: At her request, there will not be a viewing, however friends may sign a memorial register book on Sunday, July 14 ^th from 3:00-5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the North Dakota Alzheimer's Association.
