Arlene Glasoe, 84, Minot, died Saturday in a Minot hospital.

Arlene Olson was born June 19, 1929 on the family homestead located south of Burlington to Albert and Judith (Holmen) Olson. She graduated from Minot Model High School in 1947. She attended Minot State College.

Arlene was joined in marriage to Doran Glasoe on July 1, 1948, in Minot, ND at First Lutheran Church. They made their home in Minot throughout the years. Arlene was a wonderful homemaker as a young wife caring for the children, growing and canning food, sewing clothes and doing all things to make the ends meet for her family. In 1971, Arlene began employment as the supervisor of the cashier department at Sears in Minot. She also spent time in the service and draperies departments until 1988, when she started her home daycare providing a loving home for many children until she retired in 2007.

Arlene attended Bethel Free Lutheran Church. She had a special talent of embroidering beautiful table linens. She was a self-taught cook and baker, sharing the buns, caramel rolls and cookies with so many people during her life.

Family is the legacy she will leave behind as she left her mark, as only she could, on each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved so dearly. Her faith was strong, her work was done, and may she rest in peace.

Her family includes loving husband of 65 years, Doran Glasoe, Minot; children, Dean (JoAnn) Glasoe, Albuquerque, NM, Ward (Janet) Glasoe, Minneapolis, MN, Stuart (Anne) Glasoe, Olympia, WA and Julie (Brian) Troxel, Minot; grandchildren, Melissa (Corey) Helgeson, Eric (Kacy) Glasoe, Lisa (John) Vojacek, Luke Glasoe, Hannah (Peter) Halverson, Anthony Kelly-Glasoe, Emma Kelly-Glasoe, Travis Troxel, Tara Troxel; great-grandchildren, Kendra Helgeson, Isabella Youngbar, Payton Glasoe, Isaac Halverson, and Jacob Vojacek; brother, H. Burton (Margaret) Olson, Isanti MN; sister-in-law, Helen Tague, Minot; brother-in-law, Casper Haugeberg, Minot, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Wilma Bredvick, Phyllis Bowen, Bergatta Pederson, and Melba Haugeberg, and brother, Arlo Olson.

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, ND
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
