Arlene Christenson, 92, longtime Minot resident died on Monday, February 1, 2021 in a Minot assisted living facility.
Arlene Joyce Bjorke was born on April 5, 1928 in Minot to Clarence and Clara (Gjerde) Bjorke. She was raised and educated in Surrey and Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1946. As a young adult she was employed in Minot.
Arlene married Gordon Christenson on October 24, 1953 in Fort Lewis, WA. They made their home in Minot where she was employed as a secretary for the Minot Public Schools at the Board of Education Office. She was employed there for twenty-five years until her retirement in 1989. Gordon died on August 31, 2019. Arlene continued to reside in Minot most recently at the Edgewood Vista Assisted Living Facility.
Arlene was a member of Christ Lutheran Church - Minot where she was known for making lefse and klub. She especially enjoyed cooking, baking, reading and camping.
Arlene's loving family includes her children: Roger Christenson of Denver CO, Robin (Elba) Christenson of San Lorenzo CA and Nancy Christenson of Minot; grandchildren: Joel and Edward Christenson and Sara (Shaun) Brentrup; great grandchildren: Caleb, Chance, Brielle, Lucy and Jayde; in-laws: Art Varloe, Marjorie Sund, Allen (Barb) Christenson and Virgil (Sylvia) Christenson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings: Owen (Lorraine) Bjorke, Omar Bjorke, Gary Bjorke, Orland Bjorke, Clemens (Helen) Bjorke, Marilyn (Willie) Butterfield and Jeanette Varloe.
Private Celebration of the Life of Arlene Christenson: Friday, February 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Christ Lutheran Church, Minot. Face coverings and social distancing are required.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens - Minot.
Public Visitation: Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
In lieu of plants and flowers memorials are preferred to Christ Lutheran Church or the donor's choice.
