Arland Welsh, 64, Minot, died Saturday, May 8, 2021 in a Minot hospital.

Arland was born June 10, 1956 in Minot, ND to Donald and Helen (Jacobson) Welsh. He attended grade school at Burlington and was a member of the high school class of 1974 in Des Lacs, North Dakota.

Arland joined the US Army after high school and served honorably until his discharge in August of 1974. He returned to North Dakota.

Arland started his career as a truckdriver for E.W. Wylie based out of Fargo, ND. He worked a few years as an owner operator but spent the rest of his career behind the wheel hauling material for Keller Paving, Bechtold Paving and Strata Corp, all of Minot.

Arland was a history buff. He had a special interest in WWII and John F. Kennedy. Star Trek and the Titanic were also lifelong interests that he enjoyed. He will be deeply missed by those who shared in his life.

Arland is survived by his siblings Audie (Dori) Welsh, Pinedale, WY, Kerrie Welsh, Denver, CO, Roger (Michelle) Welsh, Minot, Debbie (Jim) Blais, Denver, CO, Kim Welsh, Beaufort, NC, Dawn (Christopher) Romfo, Lake Metigoshe, ND; numerous nieces and nephews and his longtime feline companion and friend Gracie.

Arland was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Michael Scott Sponsel.

A service hosted by family to honor Arland's life will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at his brother's residence.
