Ardis Neshem , 83, Minot, formerly of Des Lacs area, died Wednesday, January 12, 2023 in a Minot Assisted Living Center.

Ardis was born on April 6, 1939 on the family farm in Ryder Township of Ward County the daughter of Oscar and Bertha (Hauge) Larson. She was raised and educated near Ryder and graduated from Ryder High School in 1956.

Ardis was united in marriage to Ronald Neshem on June 23, 1957 at St John's Lutheran Church in Ryder.  They made their home on the Neshem family farm for a couple of years prior to moving to the farm located 9 miles south of Lonetree. For nearly 60 years, they raised small grains and cattle in addition to Ron running a trucking business in hauling grain, cattle and machinery. They moved to Minot in 1989.     Throughout the years, along with raising their 5 children she was employed as a legal secretary for various law firms, worked at the ASCS Office for 10 years, employed with the Ward County Auditor's office for 5 years and did taxes for H&R Block along with teaching tax classes. Ron died on August 13, 2018. She had moved to the Somerset Assisted Living Center in 2018.

Ron and Ardis were members of Bread of Life Lutheran while living in Minot. They were former members of Zion Lutheran Church, Berthold, where she taught Sunday school and the Des Lacs Methodist Church, was a member of the Des Lacs Homemakers group and served as a 4-H leader.  Her hobbies and interests included, doing volunteer work at the Hostfest, Scandinavian Heritage Association, Ward County Historical Society and Pioneer Village. She loved spending time with her grandchildren in her later years.  They would do dress up events along with making special treats such as macaroni & cheese and graham cracker icing treats.

Ardis' loving family includes , her children, Katherine (Gayle) Fimreite, Minot, Thomas (Sharon) Neshem, Minot, Janet (Gayl) Gregory, Berthold, Donald (Kathy) Neshem, Berthold and David (Stephanie) Neshem, Rochester, MN; grandchildren, Michael, Amanda and Melissa Fimreite; Dan (Tanna) Neshem, Andrea Neshem, Brittna (Ian) Richards, Emilee (Miles) Knudsvig, Ronni (William) Emerson, Elizabeth, Makenzie, Emma and Kaleb Neshem and Andrew (Julene Hawkins), Aaron and Aidan Neshem; great-grandchildren, Brekken & Danika Neshem & Jackson & Callie Knudsvig;  siblings to include, sisters in law, Vivian Larson, Kettle River, MN and Beverly Larson, Minot.

Ardis was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 61 years, Ronald; and her brothers, Derald and LaVerne Larson.

Visitation & Book signing: Monday, January 16 ^th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the Ward County Historical Society.
