Obituary

Ardis was born October 6, 1929 at Minot, North Dakota to Archie and Minnie Mae (Swords) White. She was baptized at First Presbyterian Church, Minot and educated in Minot.

Ardis was united in marriage to Robert Huizenga on October 6, 1949 at First Presbyterian Church, Minot. They made their home on a farm near Glenburn in Tatman Township of Ward County in 1950, where they farmed throughout the years and raised their five children. In addition, Ardis was employed for many years in various capacities at the Minot Labor Temple, Minot Eagles Club and Minot American Legion Club. Her husband, Bob died March 18, 2005.

Ardis was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, Minot, where she volunteered with the Presbyterian Women's Association. She was also a member of the Minot American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and Eagles Auxiliary. She had served as Past President of the Eagles Auxiliary. Ardis was often first to offer to help, whether it be for family, friends, or strangers. She had a generous and caring heart for others. She enjoyed spending time with her family and extended family. She especially enjoyed cooking and hosting large gatherings at her home for the holidays or anytime someone would drop by the house and no one ever went away hungry. Playing bingo and cards were some of her favorite pastimes. She will be missed by all who shared in her life.
Her loving family includes , children, Sandra Foreman, Dallas, TX, Robert (Sharon) Huizenga, Jr, Glenburn, Bonnie (Eugene) Iverson, Minot, Archie (Rebecca) Huizenga, Dallas, TX and Barbara (Rodney) Fossen, Minot; seven Grandchildren, John (Amy) Ingram, Corinth, TX, Scott (Lesley) Huizenga, East Grand Forks, MN, Byron (Rebecca) Huizenga, Kenmare, ND, Daniel (Tanya) Iverson, Prior Lake, MN, Kari Iverson, Sturgis, SD, Ryan Iverson, Denver, CO and Paula Fossen, Minot, ND; six Great- Grandchildren, Kyle, Karson & Grayson Ingram; Nicholas Huizenga, Abigail & Mackenzie Huizenga; sister, Doris Dreis, St. Paul, MN and brother, Robert White, Minot; several nieces and nephews.
Ardis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Hazel Sabo, Margaret (Tofteland) Wills, Blanche Suelzle, Norma Stevenson, Delcelle (Jean) Anderson; brothers, Archie and Donald.

Funeral service : Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in First Presbyterian Church, Minot.
Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
Visitation : Monday from 2:00-7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to First Presbyterian Church Choir.
