Obituary

Archie Riley , 84, Lacey, WA, formerly of Minot, ND, died Sunday, March 3, 2024, in an Olympia, WA hospital.

Archie Albert Riley was born on April 27, 1939, in Minot, North Dakota to Aruthur and Mabel (Klimpel) Riley. He was raised and educated in Sawyer, ND and graduated from Sawyer High School in 1957. While in high school, Archie served in the National Guard. He also served four years in the US Army Reserves.

Archie was united in marriage to Beverly (Patty) Pettys on July 4, 1959, in Minot where they made their home. He was employed as a truck driver in North Dakota. They moved to Olympia, WA in 1968 where he worked at Delson Lumber Company as a chip truck driver. He also worked as a truck driver for O'Neal trucking and then went to work for Farrell Gas in 1995 as a gas truck driver which he retired from there in 2005.

Archie and Patty moved to Moses Lake, WA in 2005. They enjoyed wintering in Arizona for nearly twelve years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, American Legion, Eagles Arie, and the Woodworkers Union. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and traveling. Patty died in 2020.

He is survived by his children: Delrae (Daniel) Johnson, Lacey, WA and Patrick (Michele) Riley, Chandler, AZ; grandchildren: Patrick Peden, Sean Peden, Ryan Riley, and Rick Riley; sibling: Larry (Ivadel) Riley, Moses Lake, WA along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Archie was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Patty, his sister Rochelle (Joel) Howard and his parents.

Graveside Service: Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Noon in Willis Township Cemetery, rural Sawyer, ND.
Memorials are preferred to Willis Township Cemetery.
