Annie Dodd, 81, Minot, died Tuesday, April 14, 2015 in a Garrison hospital.
Annie was born June 23, 1933, in Redwater, TX to James and Maidie (Newson) Downs. She grew up with five brothers and a sister in Redwater, TX. Annie went to school at Redwater High School, Redwater, TX.
Following a ride and safe return on a Harley Davidson motorcycle by a friend of Annie's brother, Glenn Dodd, she was 'hooked' in her words. Annie and Glenn were united in marriage on July 24, 1952 in Texarkana, Arkansas. They made their home in various places throughout the US, including Alaska, as Glenn traveled with his military career. They moved to Minot in 1969, their last military move. This union was blessed with three sons, Charles, Carl and Larry.
Annie's hands kept busy. In addition to providing a loving home for her family, she worked several positions at local hotels in Minot over the years. She enjoyed ceramics and crocheting but never missed an opportunity to ride with Glenn on that 'Harley.' Glenn passed away in 2006. She will be dearly missed by all who shared in her life.
Annie is survived by her sons, Charles (Terri) Dodd, Minot and Larry (Jeanne) Dodd, Rapid City, SD; grandchildren, Tasha (Christopher) Hauf, Shawn Dodd, Aleesha (Derek) Flom, Aric Dodd and Ashlyn Dodd; great-grandchildren, Gwen Hauf and Christopher Hauf Jr. and Syrah and Daysen Flom; brothers, James Downs, Ashdown, AR, Horace Downs, Shreveport, LA and Bob Downs, Pueblo, CO and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Glenn, son Carl, brothers, Gerald Downs and Wayne Downs and sister, Stella Smith.
