Obituary

Annabelle "Ann" W. Hanson, 80, Minot, formerly of the Carpio area, died Monday, March 16, 2015 in a Minot Hospital.

Ann was born August 10, 1934 at Barbeau, Michigan the daughter of Mitchell and Demerese (Cody) Weger. She was raised at Pickford, Michigan and educated at area schools. She assisted with the operation of the family farm in Barbeau and helped with raising her siblings. She was employed as a sales clerk and waitress in Sault Ste. Marie, MI for three years.

Ann was united in marriage to Raymond "Ray" Hanson on October 22, 1955 in Sault Ste. Marie. Following their marriage, they moved to Carpio, where they farmed Southwest of Carpio for forty-one years and raised their two children. They moved to Minot in 1996 and had spent several winters in Arizona.

Ann was a former member of Carpio Lutheran Church and had recently transferred her membership to Bread of Life Lutheran Church, Minot. She taught Sunday School classes and held various offices within the Carpio Church. She was also a member of the Carpio Country Gals Homemakers Club and a former member of the Minot Eagles Aerie.

Ann enjoyed traveling, playing cards, especially bridge, knitting, reading along with tending to her garden, especially her flowers.

Ann's loving family includes , husband of 59 years, Ray; children, Christ (Lori) Hanson, Stanley, ND, Cheryl (Scott) Newcomb, Minot; grandchildren, Jacob, John and David; sister, Evelyn Flanagan, Cambridge, MN, brothers, Clayton and Carl Weger, both of Sault Ste. Marie, MI and Clarence Weger of Michigan; sister-in-law, Margie Weger, Bisbee, AZ; along with a number of nieces and nephews.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Phoebe LaVictor, Shirley Weger, Ethel Kerridge, Mabel McGillviray, Mary Collarille and Wilma Gunderman; brothers, Richard, Arthur, Duane, John and Kenneth Weger.

Funeral service: Friday, March 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Bread Of Life Lutheran Church, Minot
Interment : Friday at 3:00 p.m. in the ND Veteran's Cemetery, rural Mandan, ND
Visitation : Thursday from 3:00- 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the American Diabetes Association ND Chapter or the American Heart Association.
